Claypath Lane

Project Details

The site is located to the north of Claypath Lane in the town centre and has been sitting vacant for several years. The developer, Modo Bloc, wanted to build three new commercial units, as well as a Starbucks drive-thru complete in a £3m development.

We undertook extensive swept path assessments (tracking) to ensure that vehicles could access all parts of the car park and Starbucks drive-thru area. We produced a highly detailed Transport Assessment that justified the level of parking provision, described the pedestrian connections and forecasts the traffic impacts of the development.

As the site was located close to a primary school, concerns were raised about the impact of additional traffic on air quality. We provided the air quality consultant with detailed traffic flows for their assessment, which was used to address the concerns.
