Project Details
The site accommodated a building which had most recently been used as an ‘M&Co’ clothes store. Permission was sought to demolish the existing structure and replace it with a new 4-storey building, with the ground floor as retail units and the upper floors to provide 8 apartments.
In this fairly constrained site, we designed the car park layout and advised on the arrangements for the storage and collection of refuse.
The highway authority accepted the finding of our Transport Assessment but requested that the applicant should fund a new pedestrian crossing. We advised that this was unnecessary and successfully pushed back on this, saving the developer significant contributions for highway works.

OUTCOME:
The planning application was approved in January 2023, enabling the developer to regenerate this redundant building.
