Sometimes the smaller projects require a deeper assessment. We were appointed by a private individual to act as the Expert Witness in this Planning Appeal.
Our client had converted their front yard into a driveway and the local highway authority had objected. A planning application which sought retrospective permission for the driveway was refused on highway safety grounds.
We visited the site and assessed the operation the road, the visibility that is available to drivers and the manoeuvring space. Our highly detailed Proof of Evidence was used in the appeal and provided a comprehensive set of arguments as to why the driveway was safe to use.
OUTCOME:
The Planning Inspector agreed with our assessment and upheld the appeal, meaning that the owners of the holiday let could continue to rent their house out with a dedicated driveway.
